Like Socrates she understands that life cannot go unexamined, and although this fragile pair of destinies is lived beyond my scope, at least I pour my red pen’s freight of ink on their side of the scales, as if we didn’t know that this won’t make apostrophes impeccable, orthography immaculate, as if we couldn’t tell how it will be with running clocks and no one whispering It’s time for a full stop.
