Is this how a turning point begins
With a flotilla on the sea
And a bunch of dead Turks who wouldn't look out of place in Dalston
And tens of — unexpected, under-reported — thousands
Marching through London streets?
Alas this was not our Soweto moment.
Turning points are to be found elsewhere.
In movies with handsome, European types
Overcoming terrible odds.
For the Palestinians there's only hurt
And the occasional flash of optimism.
