After giving out so much advice to fellow bowlers at Ayr this year (before he fell asleep), it was agreed that Blaikie should have his own advice page similar to "Dear Dieirdie" in the Sun, but aimed at bowling problems.
If anyone has any questions for Blaikie then please them to the email address at the bottom left of this page and I will print them on here. Please put "Letter for Blaikie" as the title of the email.
Letter 1
Dear Blaikie,
I'm going
to come back to playing bowls after a year out and the rink I played in
the club fours want me back. My question I need answered is how do we
tell the 3rd in the rink that he is dropped? I know he is use to being
dropped from rinks/triples but how do you think he will take this?
Yours
Kamikaze!!
Dear Kamikaze,
This is a common situation in such a strong club, so your not alone.
I would suggest you take the third out for several drinks, all paid for by yourself and this would soften the blow of such bad news. Alternatively you can ask the skip how the front end performed in such a big occasion, such as a final......I am sure the third's position will be safe.

Blaikie
